The Boroevic's throne (Karl's or Boroevic's Stone Chair) received its name after General Svetozar Boroevic von Bojna, the commander of the Austro-Hungarian Fifth Army. The current name was adopted in the1970s; before that it was known as Karl's Chair. The chair was apparently intended for the Emperor Karl I. when he was due to make one of his inspections of the troops on the front. In reality neither he nor General Boroevic probably ever actually sat on this chair.
On the right side is carved the surname Pristan, which presumably is the surname of the man who carved the chair. On the northern side (back side) is a badly worn inscription, now indecipherable.
The monument was renovated in 2000. The reconstruction was financed by the County of Miren-Kostanjevica with the help of the PHARE program.

Location description
The chair is situated on the left side of the tarmac road which leads under Cerje Hill from Lokvice to Kostanjevica. We follow the road which leads from Lokvice towards the top of the Cerje Hill. After some 450 metres we turn right towards the east and after some 1300 metres we find to the right a monument signpost and Boroevic's Chair. The chair is well preserved and renovated.
