| Text description |
The Kobarid museum was founded in 1990 with the aim of showing the rich history of Kobarid, particularly the events on the Isonzo Front from May 1915 to October 1917. The museum falls into the category of historical museum with a military theme and an anti-war message. The most special part of the museum is a collection of the stories and horrors of war from the experiences of ordinary people.
A large part of the exhibition is dedicated to the battle in the mountainous northern part of the Isonzo Front and of course the famous 12th Isonzo Battle (October 1917), in which the joint Austro-Hungarian and German Army defeated the Italian Army and pushed it all the way to the Piave River.
