| Text description |
| The monument is made from a stone with a carved inscription on the front side and a stone cross standing on the top. The memorial cross was erected in memory of a tragic accident, which took place shortly before the outbreak of the First World War. The countess, who was a member of the Austrian Red Cross, was driving on 10th August 1914 from Klagenfurt to Gorizia via the Predil Pass. She encountered a gendarmerie road block at Srpenica, which controlled the road communications in the border area. Tragically shots were fired and the countess was mortally wounded. |
