| Text description |
In the cavernas in the valley (the Italians called it during the war the Oneglia Valley) were during the war housed many headquarters, including the Headquarters of the 4th Infantry Division (Infantry Brigades "Aqui" and "Novara"). There was also a radio-telephone station. In a stone there is carved the following inscription - "NOVARA LA FORTE – NELLA PREPARAZIONE DEL LUG° 1917 DOLINA E CAVERNA CHIAMO’ A NUOVA VITA PER L’AUSPICATO GIORNO". The inscription reminds us of the time when the valley was fortified by the soldiers of the Infantry Brigade "Novara" before the forthcoming 11th Isonzo Battle in August 1917.
In the Isaia Gasparotto's war diary (Diario di un Fante – 1927) it is mentioned that in the valley there was also a seat of the special eavesdropping station, which was was tapping into the Austro-Hungarian telegraph connections.
The Infantry Brigade "Novara" was together with Infantry Brigades "Barletta", "Siracusa" and 18th Bersaglieri Brigade a part of the Italian 4th Infantry Division under Major-General Paolini. |

| The caverna is located in a large vallery, west from the tarmac road, which is leading from Segetov to Kostanjevica. By the road is placed an information board "Poti miru na Krasu", so that the object is easy to find. |
