Text description
An inscription before the entrance to the cavern, which was named after Italian King Vittorio Emmanuele II. The inscription on the plaque reveals that the cavern housed the soldiers of the 2nd Italian Army Corps which was commanded by General Pietro Badoglio.

The inscription plaque is situated in front of the cavern entrance on the Kosutnik Ridge nearby Quota 524.
Condition
The inscription plaque is not in its original location, but has fallen from above the cavern entrance and has broken apart.
The inscription plaque was again renovated by the members of the Trieste Historical Society SAG CAI.
